Marble Island Residence
An open-plan family kitchen built around a book-matched marble island.

The brief
What we were asked.
A family that cooks daily and entertains often wanted a kitchen that felt like part of the living room, without the clutter of a working kitchen.
- Scope
- Design, cabinetry, stone, installation

Our approach
How we answered.
01
We moved the cooking wall to the side and let the island take the centre, with seating on two edges.
02
Tall cabinetry on the far wall hides the pantry, appliances and a pull-out larder behind quiet timber fronts.
03
Warm lighting above the island picks out the stone and the veining.
The result
How it feels.
A kitchen that reads as a piece of furniture from the sofa and works like a professional kitchen when the cooking begins.
- Book-matched marble
- Smoked oak
- Brushed brass
